Brent Herbert-Copley
Brent Herbert-Copley assumed his current position as Director of Social and Economic Policy at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in 2002. Prior to this, he held a number of other positions at IDRC, including team leader of the small enterprise policy program and program officer responsible for science and innovation policy projects in Latin America.
Brent has a PhD in Political Science from Carleton University, and previously worked at the North-South Institute, an Ottawa-based think-tank on development issues.
His research interests include industrial environmental management, enterprise development, and the political economy of industrial and innovation policy.
His most recent book, Industrial Innovation and Environmental Management: Developing Workable Solutions (co-edited with Saeed Parto) was published by the United Nations University Press and IDRC Books in 2007.
