Mark Parent
Mark Parent is the Minister of Labour and Workforce Development and is a native of Nova Scotia. He obtained his B.A. from York University and went on to receive a Master of Divinity from Acadia Divinity College, and a PhD. in philosophy from McGill University.
Minister Parent is an accomplished author, teacher and pastor who has served churches in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before returning to his native Kings County in 1994.ÂÂ
He has been the Minister responsible for labour issues since June 2006, and has been immersing himself since then in the many issues related to fair employment, public and workplace safety, alcohol and gaming, and - more recently - skills and workforce development.
